In the hopeful spring of 2025, an international forum that blends scientific rigor with humanistic warmth — the “Harvard Medical School Autism Forum” — was held with great success in Boston from April 6 to 7.

Mr. Jim Wu, founder of U.S.-based health technology investment company SaniMed Science Group, Chairman of BioTech (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd. and President of the Global Health Interactive Foundation (GHIF), attended the forum. During the event, Mr. Wu reached a major consensus with multiple parties:
starting in 2026, GHIF will co-host the annual “Harvard Autism Science and Family Forum” in Boston during World Autism Awareness Day. This forum will serve as a global platform for scientific and clinical collaboration, family-centered preliminary assessments, and the showcasing of talents by individuals with autism.
🌍 A World-Class Lineup: Scientific Light Illuminates the Future

The forum invited renowned experts from Harvard University, Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Boston Children's Hospital, and other leading global institutions.
Dr. David A. Hirsh, MD, Associate Dean of Harvard Medical School, delivered the opening address, emphasizing the bridge between medical education and patient-centered care.
Dr. Ann M. Neumeyer, MD, Medical Director at the MGH Lurie Center for Autism, presented “Myths and Truths in Autism.”
Dr. Xue-Jun (June) Kong, MD, Director of the Synapse Program, focused on personalized interventions for autism.
Dr. Walid Yassin, DMSc, MMSc, research scientist at BIDMC, shared insights on Neurodiversity.
Several experts explored cutting-edge topics such as cognitive neuroscience, neurological mechanisms, family-based interventions, and AI-assisted diagnosis and care.

🧠 Science and Clinical Practice Advance Together; Families and Society Resonate in Harmony
In addition to scientific breakthroughs, the forum addressed practical topics such as family support, social acceptance, and legal-financial protection:
Ms. Jinping Xu, a financial expert, delivered “Financial Planning and Trust Structures for Families with Special Needs.”
Dr. Liyun Zhang, a Juris Doctor, provided a legal perspective in “Trusts and Legal Safeguards for Autism Families.”
Ms. Ying-Chun Chen, founder of Taiwan’s Xingqier Creative Arts Association, shared her educational practice in “Accompanying Autism with Art and Respect.”
The forum emphasized:
“Science empowers, family nurtures, and society embraces—these are the forces that help every child on the spectrum move toward a brighter future.”
🎨 When Science Meets Art: Children of the Stars Shine Brightly

A special highlight was the extraordinary talents of young individuals with autism:
Sylvia, a nonverbal autistic youth, conveyed her inner world through vivid artwork. Her story, featured in the documentary “Color Whisper,” moved the entire audience.
Raymond K. Wang shared his personal journey in mathematics, music, and the arts.
Many autistic youths used real-life stories to challenge stereotypes and prove that “being different is also a form of strength.”
As expressed in the short film “Glass”:
“They are not silent children—they shine in their own expressive ways.”
🤝 A Major Consensus: The Harvard Autism Forum to Become an Annual Fixture
At the forum’s conclusion, Mr. Jim Wu, Chairman of BioTech (Shanghai) Technology Co., Ltd., Founder of SaniMed Science Group, and President of the Global Health Interactive Foundation, formally reached a joint consensus with partners:
Starting in 2026, the Harvard Autism Science and Family Forum will be institutionalized as an annual global event held every April during World Autism Awareness Day, driving continuous international dialogue and collaboration across research, clinical care, families, and society.
💙 Science Offers Methods, Families Offer Warmth, Society Offers Space
Every individual with autism deserves to be understood, accepted, and respected.
They are not “outsiders,” but people engaging in a different kind of dialogue with the world. They are radiant stars in their own right.
